Ok so i'm planning on building new PC in the next few weeks and have so far used pcpartpicker.com to create 2 builds i'm interested in. However I have hit a problem with the choice, which one? I mostly do gaming (BF4, FO4, ESO) and movies bit of youtubing not much else. runs on a 1080p 42" TV no 2k 4k maybe in the future.

So pc 1,
-Ryzen 5 2600X 3.6GHz 6-Core Processor
-Deepcool - CAPTAIN 240 EX 153.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
-G.Skill - Ripjaws 4 series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
-Samsung - 970 Evo 500GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive
-Asus - Radeon RX VEGA 64 8GB ROG STRIX Video Card
plus the rest. $2508.

Pc 2,
I-ntel - Core i5-8600K 3.6GHz 6-Core Processor
-Noctua - NH-D15 82.5 CFM CPU Cooler
-G.Skill - Ripjaws 4 series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
-Samsung - 970 Evo 250GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive
-Samsung - 860 Evo 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
-Asus - GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB STRIX GAMING Video Card
Plus the rest. $3240

PS
Thanks in advance for comments and ideas.

Try to pick 8700 (Non K) with 1080, if you pick 8600K to keep up with 1080TI you need to OC it.

But if You planning to be streammer you might be need that 2600X.

I might be planning 2600X with 1080 instead of Vega 64.

And maybe you need to wait for 1180. it should be a good card.

Hi

are you sure you have enough disk space on both builds?

maybe 500GB SSD + as hard disk of 1 , 2 or 4 TB

often better for stability to run 16GB as 2 x 8GB rather than 4 x 4GB

you have not mentioned the motherboard and PSU which are both important parts of the build
You could save some money on the Intel build by not getting a K chip and then getting the free Intel heatsink & fan in the box

Firstly if you can wait for about two months, you might be able to get more bang for the buck. Intel 9000 series and gtx 2000/1100 are close to be released.

Secondly as mentioned by mbarnes86 rather get 2x8 gb ram for more stability and room for future upgrades.

If you are going to spend that much money, rather get a better cpu like 2700x or 8700k. Because they will most definitely outlast any gpu from your initial build.

Lastly ditch the m2 ssd, since there are no real world benefits compared to a sata ssd for a average consumer. Rather invest the money in more sata storage or a better cpu.

For 1080p 60Hz both GPU’s are massive overkill. A GTX1070 is more than enough, you would probably be very happy with a 1060 or 580. As you are only running 60Hz cpu choice is not as important, even the cheaper i5 8400 is plenty good enough.

Your builds are better suited to 1440p 144Hz or 4K 60Hz. If you decide to go 4K later buy a gpu for 4K then otherwise your just wasting those gpu’s until you upgrade your monitor/TV.

thanks guys for the responses, yeah i realise its 2 overkill systems but i was thinking about future proofing it, however the 3570k and GTX 970 i'm running now is still a great system handles BF 4 on ultra its just got a few hardware issues (its slowly dying) so maybe ill just go with the original choice of a 7600 and keep my current gpu going for a bit longer.
