I am trying to figure out which laptop to purchase and I have found two that I think would work well for me. I am not too familiar with computer technology and I would like to know which is the better computer/deal.
It is between http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+Pavilion+Laptop+with+AMD+Turion%26%23153%3B+II+Ultra+Dual-Core+Mobile+Processor/9556296.p?id=1218123847586&skuId=9556296&st=blu ray laptop&cp=1&lp=2

I was leaning towards the sony but I wasnt sure.
I dont need the laptop for anything crazy and really just wanted the best "bang for the buck". I wanted to spend under $1000.
I just wanted to get a laptop with good speed, enough memory size to hold all of my music and photos, a blu ray drive and do casual.
Would both of those fit the description? Which one is better? Are there any other options out there for me?

Do you plan on using the blu ray to watch movies on the computer or to connect through hdmi to tv? If its just to watch on the computer, im not sure you'll really notice much of a difference between blu-ray movies and dvd's, especially on the 14" screen.

Consider Sony VGNFW450J/H, for $60 more, you get faster Graphics ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650, better display 16.4" LCD high-definition widescreen display With XBRITE-ECO technology and 1600 x 900 resolution , and faster (7200 rpm) hard drive. Built-in A2DP Bluetooth 2.1 too. Cpu is tiny bit slower 2.1GHz [against 2.2]. And of course heavier due to larger screen size. Free Windows® 7 upgrade.
