This is gonna be my first laptop, so I want something that's gonna last me for a long time. I want it to be good build-wise, and also not have any thermal-throttling issues. The games I play include CS:GO, GTA V, BF4, etc. We also do Premiere, Photoshop, and Premiere in school.

If you concerned about gaming Dell Inspiron 15 7559 would be a better option. It has 4 GB version of GTX 960m and today's most demanding games require a bit more than 2 GB of VRAM for ex. On high setting at 1080p the graphics memory usage stays around 3.2 GBs. Although i5 6300HQ is at lower side of i7 4720HQ, but it is capable to keep your gpu at 100% under heavy game load, also with DirectX 12 it lowers the load on cpu while gaming. And for Photoshop and Premiere it got enough horsepower.

The acer looks good and has nice stuff . But I have always had problems with acer products in the past . I have a buddy the swears by them even though his laptop breaks at least once a year .

The Dell has the skylark so is obviously newest hardware with the ddr4 support . Games and stuff has not yet seen the fruits f what ddr4 can do yet , much like when ddr3 when it first came out . It will take some time .

Dell has great customer support and a better product in my opinion . The i5 6300 is not to far off from the i7s since they use 4 cores now , the only difference is the i5 does not have hyper threading . For the most part the average person does not need it anyway .
