I am very unfamiliar with what makes a good tablet and what doesn't, but from all the research I've done, I believe these 3 to be the best for the price range I'm looking in which is $100-$250.
All I'm looking for in my tablet, is something with a long battery life that I can watch all my shows and movies on easily while also being able to use it for my internet browsing and taking notes. I may want to run some emulators on it for old games occasionally, but I'm not looking to play any of today's graphic heavy mobile games.
1. I was recommended the Nexus 7 by a friend who has one. This one to be exact:

It seems great performance wise, my friend uses it to just watch movies and shows, I know I can run emulators on it, and its the cheapest option, but I'd really prefer something bigger than 7 inches even though it means easier to carry around.
2. The Asus Transformer is another that's stood out to me

I love the size and the fact it comes with a keyboard, making it pretty much both a tablet and a cheaper laptop, but based on all the reviews I've read it doesn't seem to perform as well as the Nexus nor is the screen quality as good which bothers me considering its more expensive, but I'm not sure how accurate either point is. Is there anything besides the size and keyboard that justifies spending extra for this vs the Nexus?
3. Or should I not bother with either and just go straight for a good cheaper laptop option like this Asus
