Okay, so I have been making a bunch of threads about air cooling my CPU with a Cryorig R1 Ultimate and having to find low profile RAM blah blah blah. Long story short, I am now planning to water cool my CPU :p

I am planning to buy a CLC from Corsair. But it is driving me nuts! So many versions of one cooler!!!

For example these different looking H100i Coolers

https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Extreme-Performance-Liquid-Cooler/dp/B019EXSSBG/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1476398517&sr=1-1&keywords=h100i

And I also bumped into some threads saying the v2 fixed LEAKING issues the GT had. Then I just lost my mind there.

The thing I need help on if figuring out which one is more "updated" and "secure" from leaks. The v2 looks like the newer version but I can't decide myself. I picked Corsair because it has good warranty. I don't think any other companies with CLCs and AIOs have warranty AT ALL.

For those of you wondering, I could have gone with the thick H80i but I want an overkill CLC.

Any help [or tips and recommendations] will be appreciated.

Solution
My recommendation, dont bother with a CLC.
Either go big air (which you said you did) or go for an open loop cooler such as a H240x2 or EKWB Predator series cooler.
CLCs use cheaper components and generally dont offer much cooling improvements over big air.
Open loop coolers use actual water cooling grade components.

the reason why I am going with a Corsair CLC is because it will be able to replace all damaged parts caused by a leak. I really wanted a AIO because they are bad ass, but I just can't afford replacing all my parts if it leaks since my build will be over $1000. The reason why I don't want to go with a big air cooler like you said is because it is not sexy like a water cooler and it takes up too much space. [However I might go with air if I can't decide before it is time to buy all the parts I want]. Do you know if there are any AIOs with a good warranty perhaps :)

Well if you read the warranty for the CLCs it dosent explicitly state you are covered if it leaks. Corsair has been known to do this in a few cases, but Im almost certain they would not cover every case of leak damage (IE tubing at wrong angle, improper placement, etc).
Only the product itself is legally covered by the warranty.
