Which is truly superior and why?

1st option:

CPU: Intel Core i3-7100U (2.40 GHz) with 3 MB L3 cache.
RAM: 8192 MB DDR4 at 2133 MHz.
Graphic Card: Nvidia Geforce 940MX 2GB.

2nd option:

CPU: AMD A12-Series 9720P 2,7 GHz.
RAM: 8192 MB DDR4 at 1833MHz.
Graphic Card: AMD Radeon R7 (Intergrated).

I've listed these specs only, as the other are more or so the same. I am leaning more towards the first option but what holds me back are the 2 cores of its CPU.

P.S. How powerful is Intel Core i3-7100U? Would AMD Radeon R7 (Intergrated) hold my system's capabilities back?

Well both systems are good in my opinion.
The A12-9720P has more cores that help to tackle multiple simultaneous applications or threads.

The operating frequency of the A12-9720P is higher than the frequency of the i3-7100U.

It has XOP instructions enabled. While these extensions are not widely supported by programs yet, this should improve in future apps.

And the A12-9720P has FMA4 instruction set extension enabled. The FMA4 technology is only offered on AMD processors, therefore not many software vendors may support it in the future.

While the i3-7100U has only 14% higher memory bandwidth..

And about the GPU, the gtx 940mx is kinda better than the radeon r7. But the r7 wont hold you back dont worry =))

It's up to you to decide who is the superior.. But I think its obvious 😛
