Which Laptop to Buy?

I want to buy a notebook and stuck with the following options:

1) HP Pavilion 15-n225tu Notebook PC
Windows 8.1
Intel Core i3-4010U Processor
4 GB RAM / 500 GB
Mineral Black / 15.6"
2) Lenovo Thinkpad edge e530c
PC DOS
Intel Core i3-3110M Processor
2 GB RAM / 500 GB
Anti-glare / 15.6"

Basically I want to use linux for everyday computing with little bit of coding.

I have found that the build quality from Lenovo is going to be better than HP. Also, from the specs you provided, the Lenovo is going to be faster, (after you add RAM to it.) The i3-3110M performs marginally faster while consuming less power as well.

and I tell you this works too good for me.
so blindly go for your 1st configuration
