Which laptop to chose?

Hello guys.So my friend is looking to get a (new) laptop because his old one broke down and he has two options based on his budget ( both laptops are used ).As he told me he is mostly going to run programs like Autocad,Cubase,Ableton as well as Microsoft Word and Excel.

1)The first option is a 290€ (340$) HP PAVILION 15-E046SV with a 15.6'' HD Brightview LED 1366 x 768 screen and it has:
i) an Intel Core i7-3632QM (2.20 GHz) processor with a 6 MB L3 cache ( 4 cores and 2 threads per core )
ii)8gb DDR3 ram
iii)500gb SATA HDD (and he is going to add a SSD)
iv) an AMD Radeon HD 8670M with 2 GB dedicated memory graphics card

2)The second option is a 350€ (411$) HP ENVY 15 with a 1920x1080 60Hz screen and it has
i) an intel i5 5200U @2.2-2.7 GHz
ii) 8gb DDR3 ram
iii)1 tb HDD HDD (and he is going to add a SSD)
iv)a GTX 850M 4GB VRAM graphics card
NOTE* This laptop's battery is not functioning properly so it needs replacing so he might get a discount from the original price

Both laptops have Windows 8.1 64-bit as an OS.

The 4-core QM is going to be better at AutoCAD and processor-intensive things than the low-power 2-core 5200U. However, that's also a low-res screen and probably a much clunkier computer.

Pavilion for productivity purposes. Much more powerful, despite the older architecture.

Envy for long battery life (once fixed) and all-day use if necessary.
