They there, as you can see from the title i'm in the market for a new laptop for video editing at 1080 60fps and maybe 4k 30fps in the future. I'm not made of money so i've prepared to spend £900 MAX, i've found two laptops, either this http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/dell-inspiron-15-7000-15-6-gaming-laptop-10146140-pdt.html. or http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/productdetails/inspiron-15-7567-laptop/dncwf513s. The second choice is cheaper and uses DDR4 RAM + GTX 1050 but uses a i5-7300HQ when compared to the first choice which is more expensive, uses DDR3 + GTX 960M but uses a i7-6700HQ. Any input would be nice (I would put an SSD and 8GB more RAM in either of these laptops). Thanks in advance

i7's are best for editing. This means 4 cores + 8 threads are better than 4 cores + 4 threads in regards to multitasking, rendering, encoding, playback, etc.

disregard the integrated graphics. The 7th gen has better integrates graphics than the 6th generation; however, a discrete graphics is better than integrated.

On the contrary, the 1050m beats the 960m

So the 2nd choice will be better at gaming.

Could you afford a i7-7700hq?

I probably could but only IF the gain in performance would be worth the extra spending. If we are talking a matter of a few seconds then I would probably stick with the i5 but if the performance gap is that significant then the extra money would be worth it
