Question Which lead do i need for 1440p?

Hi I have a Geforce 710GT 2gb graphic card and would like to run my dell ultrasharp monitor at 2560 x 1440p resolution. At the moment it is connected with an old HDMI lead and i can only achieve 1080p. Would a 1.4 or 2.0 HDMI lead or a HDMI to Display port lead to the monitor give me 1440p? or do i need to connect it with a different type of lead? I only run one monitor and mostly use it for photo editing and never do any gaming. Any help would be appreciated. Thank's Mike

1440p should be fine via HDMI @ 60Hz.

What monitor do you have, specifically? Is it's native resolution 2560x1440?

Hi, It's a Dell ultrasharp u2713hmt 27'', i have a old HDMI lead plugged in now but can only get 1080p, pretty sure its native resolution is 2560x1440

Hi, I have the options for resolutions only up to 1080p, not for 1440p in Nvidia and windows, i just want to know which lead i need to get the 1440p resolution, the monitor has DVI-D, Display port, HDMI and VGA ports, the graphic card has Dual Link DVI-D, HDMI and VGA ports

HDMI, DisplayPort or DVI-D can all drive 1440p, and I see no limitation on that card.
Given the card has HDMI and DVI-D (that are directly matched with monitor), either of those should just 'work'.

You may have to reinstall the GPU driver then...
