Which LGA 2011-v3 Motherboard should I go for?

Hi,

I need a suggestion on which motherboard to purchase. I'm going to buy the following :

G.Skill RAM F4-3400C16D-16GVK
i7 6800k

I checked Asrock x99 Taichi and many others but they dont support FSB 3400 RAM.

Officially the 6800K only supports DDR4-2400 (the memory controller in the CPU not the chipset/board)

Anything higher is going to be an overclock either way. And as with all overclocks, nothing is guaranteed...

Any reason why you must have 3400 memory?

that would highly depend upon your work load. The thing that would make the biggest difference is the CPU...

For highly multi-threaded workloads, the 6800k would shine. Otherwise, the 6700k would be a better bet. The 6700 also benefits from being an newer cpu core than the 6800k (around a 10% improvement depending upon benchmark).

1) Video Editing - Sony Vegas, After Effects, Photoshop, etc.
2) Streaming
3) Gaming - DotA 2

For number 1, the extra cores would make a difference. For the other 2... meh... You'd have to look at benchmarks to see how much of a difference though...
