Hi all,

I'm in the works of assembling a mobile gaming console, and wanted to know which microSD card uses up the least power.
The unit will be battery powered, and read ROM files, at a max speed of 250-500kB/s (depending on the emulator), and can peak to 15MB/s at loading times.
So I don't need the most speedy cards.

I need one between 16 and 64GB;
I'm supposing the larger the memory, the bigger the power draw, but I do need 16GB the least, 32GB preferably.

Since there's very little data out there, I might be interested in the chip die size; lower die usually means lower power consumption...

Solution
the oldest slowest one you can get. Reading is a dont care. writing takes the power so its all about the block size the card has to erase before they can write a single bit. Newer cards usually have to erase a large block while the older ones use/ erase alot less.

If you're not going to be doing much writing the get the cheapest reliable card you can find.
