Ok, time to build a new computer. But, which motherboard to get? The CPU is going to be a P4 2.26 w/ 533 FSB.

Motherboard Choices:

Gigabyte GA-8IEXP w/ 512 Mb PC1066
Asus P4T533-C w/ 512 Mb PC1066
ABit IT7
Asus P4B-533E
Gigabyte GA-8IEXP
Intel D845EBT

Well, what do you people think?

I'm not going to recommend one, simply because it would take far too long to do all the research to find that you would choose some other board from the one I advise.

Do some research.

Onboard stuff needed/not needed/don't care.

AGP 1x 2x 4x 8x etc etc

USB/USB 2

DDR/RDR

Then sort them down to a couple, check out reviews, and then decide by price.

Failing that, if you need a quick fix, get a K7S5A, an XP1600+ and a 400W PSU. That'll keep ya going until you decide.

Intels chipset does not offically support PC2700. So if you want to use this memory (without using overclocking) you should not get the Intel chipsets. Thats basically only leaves SIS (and VIA which I wouldnt consider, since very few boards uses VIA). The SIS684DX/961B chipset is quite excellent. The only missing part is 8xAGP, USB2.0 and firewire. This, however, is included in the new SIS648/962 chipset, but no mobos uses this chipset yet.

Personally Im going for the Soyo P4S645DX.

Guess what. Tom recommends the Gigabyte GA-8IHXP. I agree. My seciond choice would be the Asus P4T533-C. Can't go wrong with either.

Yeah but i also like over-clocking.When u increase the clock speeds and power it usually overclocks the pci and agp slots.IS this good or bad?
