Which memory speed for gaming and 3D design, rendering?

Hello

What speed memory should I buy for gaming, 3D design and rendering? I am looking at 1333, 1600, or 1800?

My processor will be a FX 8350 or a i7 3970K if I can get it.

How much should I get, 8gigs or 16gigs?

1600 should be fine for what you need but the price difference probably isn't that much if you wanted to go with 1800.

I run 16/1333 in my rendering/modeling/mapping machine....... would faster ram improve that, yes, but you need to look at expense vs the few ns of performance gains.

fast multi core/multi thread processor and an SSD on the other hand. ...................... the AMD processor with a large SSD would be the place I would spend the money............. the Intel processor is just too expensive IMO.

if money is no object.......... then rethink.

for the 3d/renering I'd look to 1866/ with 16GB, might look at the 2x8GB Snipers, if your mobo will take *GB sticks, would be less stress on MC than a 4x4GB scenario
