Intel D865GLC or an Asus P4P80D ?

Im buying a new PC - 2 GB of PC3200 RAM, Raid 0 on twin 160GB SATA HDs, onboard sound and I have my own ati radeon 9800 pro 128MB card.

The mobo facts are in technese and I cant work out which is better as a games box (as I play online MMORPGs and shooters whenever I can!). Help !

Thanks :)

Of those two, i'd definitely take the Asus. The Intel there is a Microatx board with onboard graphics. Useful for OEm system builds, or upgrading an OEM system, but not what I'd suggest to someone building their own computer.

OEM Intel and Asus boards tend to be main thigns I buy for desktops, and it just depends on the planned use of the systems. In my experience, Intel systems tend not to be fastest performing, but they also tend to be a touch more stable. The Asus boards may be a hair less stable(nothing significant, or I wouldn't use them) but perform a bit better.

I have the P4P800 Deluxe in my main system right now, love it, have absolutely no qualmms suggestin git to anyone. If you do want an Intel OEm board though, think you should look at the D865PERL. Onboard SATA raid(ICH5R), AGP, USB2, and lan, if memory serves.

One side note, the P4P800 has PAT hacked on, even though it's an 865 board, not 875, as most higher end 865 boards have now. I rather doubt the Intel board allows this.
