Which modem and router to buy?

I want to purchase my own modem and not rent from TWC. Also, I want a router so I can get a Roku3 and may get a Ooma. I still have a HP computers using windows xp sp2. I am thinking of buying Motorola SB6141 modem, NetGear WNR2000 router. Do you think all of this will work? Will I need any other equipment besides the Roku3 and Ooma? Joyce

I think you have to use their (TWC) modem if they provide your internet, but you can "rent" faster ones. I would double check before spending money. The netgear is almost plug & play, nice choice. you can run the genie utility to set everything up.http://www.netgear.com/landing/genie/index.aspx
