Good quality modern TN panels are a heck of a lot better than they were 15-20 years ago, I wouldn't diss a TN screen before seeing it first-hand solely for being a TN screen. If you read display reviews on THG or elsewhere, some units turn out surprisingly good.

I don't believe there isn't a person out there that would choose the image of even the best TN panel over the worst IPS based panel, all else being equal, in a side by side comparison. Some TNs might turn out surprisingly good, but every IPS panel meets or exceeds surprisingly good.

Samsung is the only maker of PLS panels i'm pretty sure.
What makes you want to get a Samsung in particular? They are quite expensive for the money.

I'd suggest getting a Gsync or Freesync monitor depending on your GPU brand.

I'd go for the RX 480 or even the R9 380x, the RX 460 is only impressive in price.

But for an AMD powered Samsung monitor the above is an absolute no brainer IMO.

I'm still considering the gpu, 480 seems a lot better for a 60$ difference!
