Which monitor for gaming?

So I've been searching for a new monitor to buy.
I will be using it for gaming and movies mostly.
As for size, 23 to 27 inches.
I have narrowed it down to these "candidates" :
Viewsonic VX2753
Samsung PX2370
ASUS VE278Q
Asus ML248H
Samsung SyncMaster P2770

My budget is below 400$.
Anyone who can help me decide between those 5, or has any other recommendation is welcome.
Gaming is the most important factor but picture quality is also very important.

Is it better than the Viewsonic?
Also, I'm coming from a 20" monitor.
Will a 27" seem too much for me?
