Which monitor for gaming?

I have a 22" 60Hz 5MS reponse and a 17" 60/75Hz(obviously I would use 75) 8MS reponse time.

22" native is 1600x1050 6:1

17" native is 1440x990 6:1, but in nvidia panel says 1280x1024 is recommended.

Can someone please explain that and tell me which would be better for gaming. And I obviously know these monitors arent special and hopefully in the future able get a 2MS Response 120Hz monitor to game on.

Just game on the bigger one. The response time difference is almost nothing and your 17" monitor wont be able to do more than 60hz at max resolution anyway.

Also I belive 19" is standard for 1440x900 for a pixel density of 0.275mm
