Which monitor for GTX 1070?

I'm getting a EVGA GTX 1070 FTW and want to replace one of my monitors. The best one I have now is a really old Dell 1920x1080 60hz. Should I get a 2560x1440 monitor or stick with a good 1920x1080? I thinking a 144hz monitor.

I play BF1, League, Rust, Conan. Overwatch, all kinds of games really.

It's going to come down to personal choice. A 1070 is well suited for 1080p 144Hz or 1440p 60Hz

Totally down to personal preference. I have a GTX1070 paired with a 1440p monitor. But with higher resolutions comes lower average FPS where as if you're going with 144hz 1080p you should be able to get much better frames.

Personally I much prefer a higher resolution as 1440p gives a crisper image due to the higher dpi. But like I said completely up to what you prefer and budget.

Another final option might be 1080p ultrawide

Based from reviews before, 1070 at ultra can only get up to 65 fps at most which would not be ideal to a 144hz monitor. I suggest sticking with a 1080p gsync/freesync 144hz monitor.
