Hello everyone.

So i am looking for a new monitor to replace my old Samsung one, and i am currently looking at these two monitors.

Dell U2414H

Dell U2415

I am mainly going to use the monitor to edit videos and photos, which i read that the Dell monitors are good for, as they are IPS monitors, and have better image quality than TN monitors. However i don't know which of the two Dell monitors to choose. The U2415 has 16:10, where the U2414H has 16:9, and as i also play a few games some times, is the 16:10 going to fit the games in fullscreen and will it affect the display when watching movies? Also, is there any big differences between these two monitors?

Thank you

I'd go ith the U2414H due to the 16:9 aspect ratio which is better suited to watching medea content on, as well as gaming.
It is the 'standard' aspect ratio.

What does 16:10 offer that 16:9 doesn't?

If you do office work like Word or Excel the taller aspect is useful. The higher resolution of today's monitors and the DPI of these monitors does well for that anyway though so the 16:10 is not needed as much unless you do a lot of spreadsheets. Graphics handles changes in resolution well these days unless you try using the monitor for over-the-air TV. In that case you will find that channels that broadcast in low resolutions can mess up the system (requiring a restart) due to differences in program and commercial source resolutions which can be difficult to account for. Both would have trouble for that but the 16:9 is better for media at this time. Media sources will continue to change resolutions and even 16:9 will require some adjustments by the software. The fewer the better but there isn't an easy way to plan for that.
