Which monitor should I get? 1080p vs 1440p

Which monitor should I get? It will be used with a GTX 1070 (gift). I understand that 1080p is a bit "overkill" but i really only play 2 games or so. Is the 25" @1440p it really worth the extra money as ill like to save as much as possible if i could. If it means anything ill be happy with both sizes as they are both bigger than mine (20.5")

Are the monitors 60 Hz? If you play FPS it's better to have a higher refresh rate than 60 Hz

Both are 60hz and ill play Fifa, GTA V, maybe a shooter like battlefield

Personally I would go with the 1440p monitor. Expect to lower a bit graphics settings in some demanding games.

The 1070 will maintain >60 at 1440p the majority of the time in BF1.

No way would I pair 1070 with 1080p/60.

Thanks mate i understand that, but do you think the $140 difference in price for the monitors is worth it?

Yeah. I would even go with 1440p monitor only for office work.
