You're going to have to look for old Socket 478 motherboards. These are so old (nearly 15 years) that you're not going to be really be able to look for something specific on the secondary market, you'll have to first find a motherboard with the right socket and then find the original manual/website and see if the CPU is compatible.

Was there an lga 775 version of the Pentium 4? Pentium 4 524 supposedly an lga775 socket cpu according to Intel.

Might make searching motherboards easier if this was an lga 775 variant.

On something this old putting any money into it is hard to justify. How long before the next components dies. You can quickly end up putting more money into old hardware to realise you could have got something modern and much faster.

Thanks. To your credit p4 did use socket 478 as youre aware. I didn't know there was an lga 775 version, you probly did 😊, just happened to search if 524 meant something or a typo.

Some of the earliest P4's were socket 423, later came socket 478..then LGA775....

I would NOT be buying an unknown board from anyone to make use of a 15 year old single core CPU too slow to do anything outside of playing Quake 3 in WIndows XP...

A quick google search shows that it fits a socket LGA775

For what its worth even Newegg still carries LGA775 boards. The bigger issue is moving your OS license key over from your old system to the new board.
