i'm going to build a PC soon. i want a plain but good motherboard. i want to do some gaming and i'll be overclocking. amd or intel, i don't care, just want a good motherboard without bells and whistles. i want something that will handle high FSB speeds.

so what do you guys recommend? whats a good chipset right now?

Because I don't know squat about intel mobos, here's what I would recommend for an AMD platform:

The new 790GX chipset is able to OC like crazy...

EDIT:and yes, I am aware that intel chips and boards are able to OC like crazy as well...

and here is another 790GX mobo thats supposed to be really good aswell...you can check all the others at newegg

Everyone here recomends the top of the line asus or gigabyte its rediculous lol. If you do your research you can get the same performance or better with other manufactuers that don't have a vested interest in you having to pay alot for an oc'able board.

The best p45 w/o the bells and whistles is the biostar tp45, check it out.
