[SOLVED] Which motherboard for AMD ryzen cpu with at least 3 GPUs ?

Hello everyone,

I am trying to do a list of components I need in order to build my new pc which will be used mainly for personnal projects (AI projects) and also for gaming.
I plan to use at least 3 gpus, 4 will be better but it is optionnal.
For now, my list is :

• case : Corsair Obsidian 750D Full Tower Gaming Case
• gpu : mix of rtx 2080 ti / 1080 ti
• RAM Vengeance 2 x 16 GB ddr4 3000 khz
• SSD 500 go + 4 to HHD barracuda
• PSU : EVGA SuperNOVA 1600W Modular
• CPU : RYZEN 7 or 9 3rd gen
• Air Cooler : Be Quiet! Dark Rock 4 CPU

My question is which motherboard allow me to use at least 3 gpus (without any loss of performances ) ?
Do I have to take the X570 motherboard ?

Hi,

I thank you for your link. I did not know this website.
Looking at it, I found multiple motherboards with 3 PCIE 3.0 x16 : https://pcpartpicker.com/products/motherboard/#L=4&h=3,8

But I have few questions :

• how to know if they are able to manage 3 gpus and if they will be able to furnish enough power ?
• Are they compatible with all PSU?

with 3 sli, it sure can run at least x8 on the slot

with just 3 pcie 3.0 x16, 1 or 2 might be running at x4

all psu? nothing is compatible with all psu

I am a little lost, does that mean even if the motherboard have 3 PCIE x16, I will not be able to use 3 gpus on it ?
I know each gpus need also 2 x 8pins, and I thought it can be an issue. But I do not understand how we can know the number of pins available. Does it depend of the motherboard ?

you could just have to read the motherboard spec to see what speed it running
x16 is the slot size. it could be wire to run x1,x2,x4,x8,x16
sli required it to be min of x8
