I am building a budget gaming PC, I am looking at getting the AMD x4 760k. Which motherboard would be a good option for this?

1. I need something that will run richland out of the box, I read some of the Motherboards need updated bios with a trinity CPU, I dont have that option.

2. I just need a basic but good quality motherboard, dont need all the features. as long as it has a PCIe port and a few sata ports it will work fine.

Oh, if your a month out then don't let me force this on you. Motherboards fluctuate in price a lot so when you build it the prices may be different. I would pick the best price per performance at the time, but to answer your original question the motherboards I showed you will run the 760k just fine out of the box

Ok, I was actually planning on going with a micro ATX. they are a little cheaper. And Im really not needing something with so many features if it could save me money.

Also the x4 750k is a trinity CPU

The x4 760k is a richland cpu

I want to find a motherboard that is compatible with richland out of the box. I would not be able to update the bios.

I second this, besides AsRock, MSI motherboards are my second pick for quality. I have actually seen this board before, and it always seems to get good reviews. The price isn't bad either. It uses the same chipset as the one I mentioned earlier, so I don't know how well it will work with your CPU, but I honestly doubt that you would have to update your BIOS.

Ok, that board is $82. although it does come with bf4. I would like something a little cheaper. Dont need all the features. Just looking for something that will run Richland CPU's out of the box. Would any board that is running the A88x chipset work with my CPU? Could I use a78 chipset with richland?

I think that it would work, but I would spend the extra $10 just for BF4. The MSI is also a better board and if you sell the BF4 for even $30 you have a better board for less. I know a bunch of people that would buy it off you for 30

I hear ya. only thing is I might be a month out from buying my parts. So if that deal is still around, Then yes, I will go with the MSI. But if not, Was just looking for a cheaper option. just wanted to make sure what I get will work with richland out of the box.

Ok, thanks for your help. Ya, I know they fluctuate a lot. But man, It is hard to pass up that BF4 deal. Since that is a game I was planning on getting once I get this PC built anyway. I many just have to go ahead and buy the motherboard now.
