Hello, all I'm looking to upgrade my PC a retailer gave me a list of new PC. but I have a working motherboard, processor, SMPS, and almost everything but my monitor is changing. well, i have no graphics card its like 200MB internal. and a 4GB ram that should do but one doubt I have AMD Athlon II X2 250 Processor
Zebronics E8400 motherboard.

should I change my processor to i3
should I change my motherboard

Solution
Change but not to i3. Ryzen's is great and the b350 means you can overclock to about 3.7Ghz. That would match most of the i5's with the stock cooler.

What is the make/model of what you have now?
X2 250 is a very weak processor as is a E8400.

I would not spend any more on such obsolete parts.
G4560 for $65, B250 lga1151 motherboard for $65 $50 for 8gb ddr4 ram would be a nice upgrade.
The integrated HD610 graphics is decent.
The big benefit is that you have cpu upgrade options with the lga1151 motherboard.

What is the purpose of this pc?

If it is for batch multithreaded applications, a ryzen 1400 with 8 threads is an excellent choice.

If it is for gaming, then a balanced gamer should budget about 2x the cost of the cpu for the graphics card.
In the budget referenced above, it is backward.
I would suggest a $90 budget for a G4620 and $180 for a stronger graphics card.

Most games can only use 2-3 threads so most of the 8 threads on the 1400 will go unused.
And... most games depend on the performance of the single master thread.
The single thread rating of the ryxen 1400 is 1702.
The single thread rating of a G4620 is 2146.

Lastly, while a single stick of 8gb ram is cheaper, it is best to get a 2 stick kit of 2 x 4gb so you can run in dual channel mode.
