I am putting together a gaming PC and the basics are Ryzen 7 5800x with a RTX 3070 Ti card, PSU of 850W, but which motherboard to use,
Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming or the Asus TUF Gaming X570-Plus?

I think that the Strix X570F is better, than the TUF Gaming X570, but I am trying to future proof the build as I know that the TUF motherboard supports the RTX 3090, which would be something I would be looking to update to in the future, when the prices are more sensible. I am not sure if the Strix 570F would support the RTX 3090.

Can anyone help?

Do these boards also support the RTX 3090?

as i stated earlier,
as long as you have either a PCIe x8 or a PCIe x16 slot you will support any modern PCIe graphics card.

these have just upgraded to PCIe 5.0, which is the latest standard available.

you need to do some research into PCIe tech so you don't need to keep worrying about or asking about this same idea.
There is no such thing as future proof, especially on a dead platform. Either motherboard is going to be the same, with regards to GPU performance. If you want to build something that has an upgrade path, an i7 12700k makes more sense, as you will have access to 13th gen raptor lake, later on. 5950x is the end of the road, for AM4. AM5 is coming later this year.

Thank you John and Logain for your responses.

I had not realised that the AM4 slot would be coming to an end, so will be looking at the i7 2700K option, as this makes sense from a future perspective. I therefore will be looking at a better motherboard to go with i7, namely Asus TUF Gaming Z690 plus WIFI or the Asus Rog Strix Z690 A-Gaming WIFI.

The TUF Gaming appears to have a 1xPCIe 5.0 x 16 slot and 1 x PCIe 3 x 16 slot (which supports 4 mode) and the Strix says 1 x PCIe 5.0/4.0/3.0 x16 slot(s), 1 x PCIe 3.0 x16 slot (supports x4 mode). Do these cards also support the RTX 3090?

Thanks.
