Had to go back and look at the question again. Now I remember why I didnt directly answer it. There is way to much garb to sort through. Keep it simple and to the point and you will get more responses.

There was only 1 answer to your question, because only 1 answer was needed. I'll recap:

nForce3 is better than the Via chipset. No one argues that point because it's 99% agreed. Based on that, the MSI board is your choice, but...

MSI is on a number of people's "do not buy" list because of various reasons. Sometimes you get a good board, other times you don't. Some say 1 in 3 are good, some say different ratios.

So, they're recommendation (and mine) is get an nForce3, but get a different brand than MSI.

PS: Because the chipset is better, and if you really have your heart set on the MSI board, get that one, but cross your fingers and hope you get lucky.
