My Thermaltake XT 775w blew up after 8 years of use (actually made a loud bang) 2 days ago and I'm looking for a replacement. Currently use a simple gainward 6gb 1060 with an i5 6500 so power consumption is low, but I wouldn't mind some headroom to move to a future i7 and next gen gpu in a few years (maybe 2070 successor or amd equivalent).

My options are from MSY as I want the get my pc back running asap and don't want to wait a week for delivery from alternatives.

Here are my options. All prices in AUD

After reading around, half the forums refer to this outdated psu tier list as some sort of holy bible, trying to make me spend over 150 dollars for a mid range pc.

EDIT: I've just spotted this Antec True Power Classic 650W 80Plus Gold on the clearance list for $88. So add that into the mix.

I'd be getting a 3070 or equivalent. Won't be upgrading until next gen

Is the Antec Truepower 650w for $88 a better deal. I don't care for modular vs non modular as my case has plenty room to hide cables

At that price, yes. The Antec is a Seasonic platform, and while not designed specifically for enthusiasts still has excellent performance, 105° Japanese caps, decent protections and can output what it says decently. It's only real downsides are lack of modularity and a 5yr warranty, whereas most units in this range are starting to get into the 7-10 year warranty.
