Hello, I am considering to buy a new mouse to replace my failing Anywhere MX. I am considering:

Anywhere MX 2
Anywhere MX 2s
Master MX 2s
Ergo

Which of these have the free spinning scroll feature found in the original Anywhere MX?

I don't know the Master MX 2s but when I tried the Performance 7 years ago, it was too big for my hand and there were also slightly sharp edges. I ended up getting the Anywhere MX. Not sure if these have been improved.

"So we designed the MX Master 2S with a brand new 4000-DPi precision sensor that tracks on virtually any surface, even glass."
"Sensor technology: Darkfield high precision "

Yes, it does do that.
And it is a laser.

Horizontal scroll does NOT ave the fast scroll feature.

I don't have a native Ubuntu install, but the fast/clicky changeover is in the mouse hardware, not the OS.
It just depends on how fast you flick the scroll wheel, or press the button to change.
So I have no reason to think it would not work. It DOES work in a Ubuntu VM guest under Win 10 host.
Thanks USAFRet.

Does the MX Master 2s's horizontal scroll wheel also have the fast spinning feature like the original Anywhere MX? If so, do both fast spinning scroll wheels work under Ubuntu linux?

In the original Anywhere MX and Performance, they have the Darkfield laser tracking technology that allow the mice to work on any surfaces including glass and reflective ones. When I searched by filtering in such feature on the Logitech website, only the Anywhere MX 2s is shown. Somewhere I read that the Master 2s is using optical sensor rather than laser sensor. Does it work well on glass and glossy reflective surfaces?
