I am not quite familiar with these GPUs, after making a purchase of a gtx 1050 card and overclocking it.. I kind of met a threshold as far as i'm aware, and reading more on it, I think without a 6 pin connector its an dead end? How important is the pci-e 6 pin power connector in regards of overclocking these cards? Please shed some light on this subject!

I am just a little concerned before making a purchase now because so much has to do with being able to overclock it properly or not :/ I read that some gtx cards are bios locked aswell, etc.. Confusing
This is my build atm:
CPU: Intel Core i5 2500k @ 4Ghz
Ram: 8GB Dual Channel DDR3
MoBo: Gigabyte Z68AP-D3
Win 7
Thanks in advance!!
