Question Which of these 2 for a 3900x build?

I'm thinking of building a 3900x machine.

I am considering these 2 motherboards:

MSI AMD B450 A Pro Max, £91.39
MSI B450 Tomahawk Max, £119.19

According to this chart, both are good enough for the 3900x.

So I'm wondering, what extra value is there if I get a Tomahawk? Lots of people seem to recommend it for the 3900x due to its VRM. But given that chart, how much better is it than the A Pro Max?

MAX,cuz it doesnt need a bios update for 3rd gen ryzen.If i were you i would get a stronger/better board.TOMAHAWK MAX is ussually used for r5 and r7,but do what u wanna do.

Neither, for a 3900x I'd look at B550 or x570.

May I ask what mobo you have come up with?

I got an ASUS TUF B550 in the end. Reviews said its VRM was more than capable, though some people on forums said it was not. I don't know how to monitor VRM temps, so can't confirm if that is true or not.

Well, it works. And the computer as whole works. I don't have anything to compare it to.

This guy seems happy with it though, and he has a more informed opinion than myself.

The reason why I got the B550, instead of an X570, is because X570 (with the exception of a really expensive one) all come with cooling fans. Some people complained that they are annoying, though most say that they rarely spin under load (though they always spin when the systems starts up as a test). I didn't want a mobo with a fan.
