Had the Asus N551 and it had very poor quality. Made an RMA on it. Dont buy their GL, N or G line of laptops.
Not only me had problems, many other had too so overall very bad quality. Dont be fooled by the metal body.
So what laptop would you recommend? Budget is around $1000
Lenovo Y50 would be my recommendation but if you can, buy a desktop. Battery is horrible on all gaming laptops and you will end up always having it plugged in on your desk. Gaming laptops are overpriced and deliver bad performance unless you spend several thousands of dollars. I just got a 1000 dollar gaming desktop and I will never look back to laptops again due to their performance and upgrade ability which will be cheaper for your wallet in the long run. Don't buy a gaming notebook unless you really really really need that portability which compromises with so many things.
I was planning on building a pc, but I travel a lot, and I can't really bring a pc with me everywhere. In case I get decide not to build one, any desktops you'd recommend?
