Which of these is better?

alright guys. which one of these is better for gaming at around 720p.

the gt240 512MB ddr5

toms says that they are in the same bracket in their heirarchy. and i cant really find any benchmarks on these two.




and also, which would operate better with Linux.

The GT 240 DDR5 is about 25% faster than the HD5570 on average. The HD5570 is DX11 while the GT 240 is only DX10 however, but on cards of this caliber I wouldn't say it matters much.

The OS does indeed matter when the drivers for one are vastly superior to the other (ATi's drivers have sucked for a long, long time, and AMD is continuing the trend, while nVidia has decent-to-good drivers).

Low end cards like these are not suited to take advantage of most of the worthwhile features of DX11 like tessellation. It's nice to have still but just not a big deal IMO and certainly nowhere near as important as the performance difference between the two cards in question.

im most likely gonna use to run my older games and not anything new. and what do i mean by old, sins of a solar empire, empire earth II, rome total war. stuff like that.


as far as overclocking goes, which one does that better. lol
