GTX 960 all the way, pretty nice OC capability there.

I would go with the 960. My brother has one and it can pretty much max out most games in 1080p at 60hz.

Edit: The r9 380 is a great card as well though and a little cheaper.

The 380 beats the 960 in all benchmarks.

Depends on what you want to do really, the 960 is pretty effecient, will generate less heat and drink less power.

But again, the 380 is more powerful in every contest, hands down.

Probably because it has power issues, is a reference design, and is sold out almost everywhere.

If he is willing to spend more, an overclocked R9 390 gives GTX 980 speeds.

The r9 390 would be out of my budget. If I get some more money then I might get it.
