which of these mATX motherboards is the best

ive been debating on which on of these three motherboards to get for quite a bit, so im just wondering which of these you think is best, im open to suggestions of different mobos of you have some but id like them to be in the same price range as the other motherboards ( im on a tight budget ;-; ) anyway thanks in advance :D

The "H"chipset boards (and of course, the "Z" chipset boards) are the only ones that allow you to OC the CPU, if that matters. And of the two H boards listed, the ASRock H97M Pro4 is the only one suited for OC'ing.

:O i had no idea, whats the difference between the z97 and H97 chipsets?

Most manufacturers had enabled OC'ing on all H series boards later on with BIOS updates. But Intel officially only allows OC'ing only on Z boards. If you want to OC, it might be better to just stay with a Z board. But here is the difference between chipsets:

well the issue is, i cant seem to find any z87/z97 mATX motherboards that are still being sold, im considering just getting :

and keeping my current motherboard which is ATX, im really just trying to have a small computer with which i could easily carry around ( i commute too and from the university i am enrolled in every weekend )

Well, if you are not planning on OC'ing, you can use any LGA 1150 board you like. But then there's no sense spending extra for the "K" series CPU. OC'ing in that tiny case might present a heat issue, anyway. Just go with the non-K processor, save some money and put it towards a faster card.

Btw, the GTX 970 you have spec'd is way over-priced. And the less expensive GTX 1060 3GB equals it. I have both, so I speak from experience.

oh im sorry, i forgot to mention, i already own all the parts in my build, as well as a full tower case that currently houses my PC, i just need to downsize it so i can actually take it with me on my commute
