For gaming, actually I'd recommend BenQ RL2455HM ($199)

1ms(gtg), 1080p, Black eQualizer are good spec.

BenQ GL series is also a good choice, but not that good for gaming.
Asus monitor is another good brand, but vg248qe beyound your budget too much ($279)

Other like Dell, LG, Samsung, etc. They aren't that focus on gaming monitor (Though they are famous monitor manufacturers)

One more thing, if you care more about response time and price, pick TN panel. If you want color accuracy, pick VA or IPS panel.
I'll mainly be using it for gaming. I want to keep the budget around 150. Also, add Acer - H6 Series 23" IPS LED HD Monitor to my list of choices. And I didn't know about the panels, I'll have to look into that.
