Currently I have a KFA2 760 EX OC and an i5-3570k.

My current PSU is a winpower 750w that I've had for over 2 years, it works great, but it's loud, it's been loud since the day I bought it and I thought I'd buy a quieter PSU since I also want to upgrade my graphics card and overclock my CPU further.

I'd like to be able to run sli in the future. I saw these PSU's and they look like a good deal. They look similar but have different names but are the same price. :pt1cable:

Thanks in advance for your wisdom. 😛

Solution
Both of them are Corsair CX. Corsair CX are mediocre power supplies that use cheap capacitors and die rather quickly after warranty. Corsair CX is junk compared to PSUs that cost similar price. Corsair usually do good stuff, bot not the CX line.

Also, they are refurbished. Which means they have been used before. There is no guarantee on how long they will last afterwards. I propose to you to find at least 60 quid and buy a new quality power supply. Like these guys:

Solution
The CX is one of Corsair's entry lines, and as such is built cheap. The CXM semi modular use higher grade capacitors and are a much better unit overall. Doesn't hurt to be semi modular over the standard CX either. The CXM is a much better value.

The CX and CXM both use crap capacitors the cxm is NOT better. Read ko888's post.

The CX 750 use Japanese 85° caps on primary, taiwanese/Chinese caps on secondary, but the cxm 750 uses Japanese 105° caps on the secondaries. That info he supplied was about the cx430, cxm430, and although all 4 units are built by channel well OEM, that does not mean they are all built equally, or if that was the case, you could lump the HX750 as being crap because that too is built by channel well.

Here's an internal image of the CX750M. It's based on CWT's PUQ (B) platform.

That primary electrolytic is clearly a Nippon Chemi-Con SMQ Series 390µF 400V 85°C.

The secondary electrolytics are CapXon 105°C.

Hmm, could have sworn the 750 had jap cap secondaries, but then again, the unit I replaced the fan in was an overseas unit brought to the states, so that may have been the difference. CapXon caps are pretty much bottom of the heap, quality wise, so I guess I stand corrected. Cool, learn something new everyday.
