Hello, I have a laptop with an i7 2630qm processor. CPU 4 core Turbo Frequency Max. It's 2.9Ghz, but not all cores are running at 2.9Ghz, its ranking is 2.9 2.8 2.6 2.6. My goal is to boost all cores to 2.9ghz. My device's BIOS is unlocked, I can access more settings if needed, but I'm not clear on what settings need to be changed. I need the support of friends who can help or give ideas on this issue.

A lot of laptops are shipped without the capability of messing with the CPU clock speeds. Plus since this is a laptop, you're limited by power delivery and cooling constraints.

All core boosting may increase the power consumption significantly, and, assuming the laptop's power delivery circuitry is designed well enough, may hamper delivery of power to other components. For example, if the power delivery circuitry has a budget of say 100 watts, and it's already reaching the limit of that between the CPU and GPU when running a game at say a 30/70 split, putting an all-core boost may push the CPU to consume 40W or 50W, and now there's less power for the GPU, which means lower GPU performance. If the power delivery circuitry doesn't have...

Make and model laptop?

Update your post to include full system specs and OS information.

Do you have the applicable User Guide/Manual for the laptop and/or motherboard?

The key is to determine what frequencies are supported and then what needs to be configured in BIOS to achieve the desired/supported frequencies.

The model of the device is g74sx. operating system windows 10 pro. There is a user manual on the internet, but there is no information about the hidden features of the device such as overclocking.

Not sure about "hidden features" per se.

If a manufacturer's product has features that do indeed work to the advantage of consumer/user then the manufacturer will certainly tout such things.

If a manufacturer' product does not have such features then it is likely that the manufacturer will simply stay mum on the matter but likely to not discourage any appearance that the product has those features.

Lastly, there all those folks who discover things that just happen work. Again the manufacturers have the option to allow that or they can (if to their advantage) simply make the necessary changes to prevent "happenings".

Not uncommon that some product is provided in various versions - all of which are/were originally identical but, one way or another, are crippled to provide lower end models and pricing.

I am going to move this thread from Laptop Support to the Overclocking category.

Someone there may be able to provide more direct assistance and/or correct any errors of omission or commission on my part.

If the power delivery circuitry doesn't have much of a cap and allows the CPU to consume more power, now it becomes a problem with if the cooling system can handle the extra load safely.

In general, it's not a good idea to overclock laptops unless it's seriously overbuilt. And as beefy as your laptop looks, I don't think it was designed to work significantly beyond the limits of the highest end configuration (which I presume you have).

That 2.9 is max single core boost. Unless there is a setting for multi core enhancement, you cannot change it.
