Which of these would be the best for gaming + budget?

I could go with the AMD FX6300 + ASRock extreme3 990fx
Or pay more and get the intel i5 3570k with the ASRock B75M-DGS LGA 1155 Intel B75
Which should I go with?
For $260, I could get the AMD FX6300 + ASROCK EXTREME3 990FX
For $200 I could get the AMD FX6300 + MSI 970A-G46 AM3+ AMD 970
For $290 I could get the intel i5 3570k + ASRock B75M-DGS LGA 1155 Intel B75
Which of these is the most wise when it comes to saving money aswell as being able to play cpu intensive games like DayZ without much lag on 1600x900
Any other suggestions are very welcome

Well I can tell you the best performing CPU for gaming is the 3570K.

What mobo should I go with? Probably going to overclock slightly.
Looking to play DayZ.

Get the fx-6300 and a cheaper board if it means you can spend more on the GPU. Its by far the most important component.

Most benchamrks tend to favour the intel chip as it is stronger clock for clock.

Don't forget, the more you spend on a CPU/mobo, the less you have for a GPU (the part that really matters)

I suggest the i5, it is powerful for the price, but you don't have to overclock much for dayZ as long as you have a GPU. And if you do overclock be sure to get an aftermarket heatsink or you will (Worst case scenario) burn your CPU.

If you want maximum performance but on a tight budget then I would always recommend going AMD as you can get a 3.1ghz 8 core for less money than an intel quad core. How ever, if money isn't an issue then go for intel as they're more reliable.

I was asking myself the same question right before Christmas before I made my decision to go with AMD. I researched for a few months, and just kind of felt like if I went with Intel, I wouldn't "use all of my resources". I would hate to get something that would have been OVERKILL for me. But at the time the only game I played was WoW on it, and now I don't play that, and I am looking for other games as well. But so far, I am actually impressed with what I built. I did decide to go with the AMD FX-6100 (ordered around november)paired with graphics card of a MSI HD7770 and it seems to do the job just great!

i went with the fx 6300 with the same mobo for $200 because the i5 is out of my budget but i also heard it had good overclocking room but i will receive this monday and let you know how it is because i also play dayz. also going to be running a 7850 in it so i dont know about you gpu.

I'm about a week into a AMD FX6300 + MSI 970A-G46 AM3+ build, used the savings on the CPU/Mobo to pair it up with the PowerColor HD7870 PCS+ Myst Edition. Haven't really pushed it yet, but so far I'm loving it.
