So I'm that kind of guy who describes computers as his hobby all my spare money and time go to my own rig. My previous pc was an Intel Duo E8400/GTX 260 it wasn't bad, the thing is I like AMD better (no fanboyism here). I have AMD based rig now and my friend has Intel. Last night we argued which of them is better for multitasking, games, rendering and everyday tasks.

My Pc Specs:

AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz
Asus Sabertooth Rev. 2
Gigabyte Radeon HD 7950 3GB
Corsair Vengeance Blue 16GB 2x8GB DDR3 1600MHz
4TB of Hard Drive. 2x1TB and 2TB
120GB SSD
Zalman CPU Cooler
Asus Xonar Audio Card
650W Corsair Modular PSU
Thermaltake Commander MS-I Snow.

Friends Pc:
i5 3570k 3.5GHz
Asrock H77
Evga GTX 760
Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB 1x8GB DDR3 1600MHz
1.5TB Hard Drive
No SSD
Coolermaster T4 Cooler
No dedicated Sound Card
750W Chieftek Non Moddular PSU
Coolermaster 350.

Which one is better and why? I dont want to start a fanboy war I just want your opinions guys.

Well the FX-8350 has been shown to out perform the i5-3570k in some tasks, however the i5 excels in many tasks too. His card may be a bit more superior but you have a 120GB SSD (I'm not grading on the usual CPU/GPU comparison i'm judging both of the builds as a whole.) So honestly you guys both have amazing rigs, his may beat you in gaming but you beat him in everything else.

CPU: i5-3570k wins in games and single-threaded programs, FX-8350 wins in rendering and editing.
Motherboard: You have the higher end board that allows for overclocking, while your friend has the low-end board that won't support overclocking (which is a waste of the "k" unlocked processor as it is meant to overclock).
Gpu: You have the better gpu, which will increase gaming performance.
RAM: You have the better RAM, as it is two sticks to utilize dual channel memory. It's also an extra 8gb.
CPU Cooler: Meh. Both aren't that great.
PSU: Seems like you have the better quality psu.

It's pretty clear that you spent a lot more money on your pc than your friend did. Your friend's processor is better for games, but thats about it. Your other components are superior than his. The 7950 should make up for the fps you lose on the 8350 vs 3570k and maybe gain a bit more.
