[SOLVED] Which one is better, Ryzen 5 3550h or i5 9300h for design, editing, animation ?

This fight between Ryzen and Intel and I narrowed my choices between these two
1. The ryzen is Acer Nitro 5 2019 with Ryzen 5 3550h, 512nvme, RX560x and 8gigs of ram.

2. meanwhile for the intel is MSI GF63 9rcx with i5 9300h 256 nvme, 1050ti and 8gigs of ram.

Mainly I'll use these laptop for painting, animation and editing (mostly adobe family) and maybe a little bit of gaming. but not AAA games. I am convinced to get the nitro since it claims with 72%ntsc. Also in my experience using Asus f570zd (R5 2500u), Radeon Vega 8 is much more stable for painting and illustrator, than nvidia 1050 (already set to max performance). It might sounds weird but it's true and i don't know why. Ryzen also tend to had good temperature, i never reached 85-90 Celcius during overload with 2500u.

Meanwhile some reviewer said that i5-9300h is pretty hot when overloaded. And it might throttle. That's why i am afraid if i choose i5-9300h and 1050ti the lag in photoshop or any adobe will occured. As reviewed in here https://www.notebookcheck.net/MSI-GF63-8RC-i5-8300H-GTX-1050-Laptop-Review.340606.0.html , it's still 8th gen from MSI earlier version. and In that review i5 dropped to 2.1 ghz in stress test !

Note that i'll use these laptop almost 12hours a day, and it should last about 5 years

Here's an article showing the i5 (scroll down a few pages) having better overall scores over 15 benchmarks. Here's another user benchmark which pretty much shows the same thing. Intel looks like the clear winner.

Thanks. In the second link, it's not i5 9300h, instead it's an i5 9600k desktop processor.
And i've visited the first link before, and yes i5 9300h is slightly better.

But have you checked in here ? where i5 8300h throttling, cpu dropped to 2,1 ghz in stress test. And i guess i5 9300h is no different but it's all depend on the laptop manufacturer and configuration.

i5 is undoubtedly the better choice here, doesn't matter it's 8th or 9th gen.

Both are stronger than the Ryzen-5 3550H.

However, their TDP is also 10 W more.

Doh! Sorry about that. It was a direct paste too so not sure how it changed lol..

Either way, it still looks like the i5 is the better setup. As @Sagar_20 mentions, it has a higher TDP so it may run a little warmer, but your original post already mentioned the temps. Even with the higher TDP tho, its still the better way to go. Invest in a good laptop cooler (Like this or similar) and you'll easily mitigate the extra temps.
