I have bought a new I/O power switch. One wire is white and the other wire is blue. Which one is negative??

Additionally, have two of these switches. I would like to use one as a reset switch. Is there reason not to use it as a reset switch even though it says Power SW on it?

Solution
It does not matter which is positive or negative with power and reset switches, all it is doing is connecting those two pins together when you press the button to power the system on. You could also use it as a reset switch, they do the same thing.

Solution
A start button and a reset button both use a momentary contact switch and can be used interchangeably.

If the switch's poles are electrically isolated from the chassis/computer case then the polarity of the wires on the switch is meaningless. On your switches the white wire would be ground and the colored wire would be positive.
