Solution
Thanks so much for all the info, problem is I already bought the i7 4770k :/

Well you should have said that already! What other parts do you have, and is your budget including what you already have?
It will come Close to brand new and even if I have to put a little more I can , I just want something that's not going to let me know , the money talks for quality and reliable in performance

I've been torn lately between the 780 and 290 but the 290 just feels like a better value.

But the Xeon E3 isn't really worth it. Get a i5-4670K or 4440 for a lot cheaper than the i3, honestly.

What? Who says it's not worth it? and what do you mean cheaper than the i3? Why would you recommend a $143 Z87 motherboard with a locked i5? Also, 550w is not enough for a 780.

I agree that the Xeon isn't necessary all the time, but if it fit in the budget comfortably, then why not. And it is considerably cheaper than overclocking a 4670k.

I was trying to keep my price down, and total wattage is 442, so 550 would run okay.
