ones 300 at micro center and the other is 450, the 9700 is at 350 but buying a intel at this point is a waste of money especially with a only a 8/8 count on it. I game thats about it, yes i aware that technically the Intel chips are slightly faster, however it doesn't seem like much. This thread is more of a gauge on how the community feels about the whole thing

The question is what you gaming with? Do you have a 1080p 240hz monitor with RTX 2080 Ti and you aim for the best fps possible then yes the I9 9900K will give you some extra fps. Otherwise just get the Ryzen 7 3800X that include a decent cooler , draw less power and cost less.

Leaning a little bit more on the AMD chip just because its amazing performance and value out of the box

Running a 34 inch ultrawide 120hs IPS panel with a RTX 2080

I run RTX 2080 with Ryzen 7 3700X and 2k 144Hz monitor and i dont believe the 9900k would make any difference. I have my motherboard from the first generation in 2017 and i still can upgrade CPU's and probably will be able until the next 4000 generation.
