Basically they give a lot more tactile (and audible if you want) feeback when your pushing down the key, as well as being a bit more solid to push. After using a mechanical for a while, eventually Membrane keyboards start to feel "mushy".

So you are saying mechanical is better for gaming ?
Not saying their better, just they feel different. Some people hate the feel of mechanical keyboards.
Most I can say is look into it more and decide that for yourself. I love my mechanical, but not all do. See if you can find a Gamestop nearby that's showing off a Blackwidow, that will let you be able to feel a mechanical keyboard before you decide to buy.
From experience I have the black widow ultimate and LOVE IT! Although its expensive typing with it is bliss and they macro keys help a lot with games the Like DOTA and games that require large sequences of hotkeys I would highly recommend it.
