Which one to pick?

I got two options.
The system is mainly going to be used for gaming.
Both are the same price approx, Phenom2 system is around 25$ cheaper.

Which one would you pick? And would you change anything in what you picked?

Benchmarks show that the 4890 beats the GTX260, and competes with the 275 while stock and the GTX280/285 while OC'd.

In 98% of games, unless you're playing at a tiny (1440x900 or below) resolution, the game will be GPU bottlenecked, and so having more GPU power is better.

Unless you're playing GTA4 and FSX, the second build will outperform the first one, especially if you play at 1920x1080 or 1920x1200.

I would not get an IDE CD drive. Get a sata one, takes up less room allowing for better air flow. As for which one I would choose for gaming, it would have to be the second one. The 4890 is definitely superior to the 260gtx. You do have to pay a penalty in other non-game applications for getting the better gpu and a inferior cpu and less ram. Overall, though, that penalty should be quite small unless you do heavy photo or video editing or audio encoding.
