[SOLVED] Which one would be a good fit...

Hello all.
I have an aged system. still kicks ass on all games. But i do understand that the cpu i7 7700 is old. short of not updating the entire system. what cpu would be a good fit for most modern games who take advantage of core and thread count? i looked into the 19 9900k and it is a crazy 600. do not want to spend that much. any ideas of a good cpu that could replace my 7700 and get better performance? thx

i7 7700
1060 6gb
16 gb ram
700 psu
asus prime mobo. dont remember the model.

Going from an i7-7700 to an i9-9900k is mostly a whole new system.

CPU, motherboard, RAM.
Possibly PSU, depending on what the current on is.

What specific motherboard?

But probably not. A motherboard that has a 7th gen Intel....thats it.
Going to 8/9th gen means a new motherboard.
