which operating system is better?

so i am getting a new computer really soon and it comes with windows 7 pro but the computer i have now has windows 10. i have only used windows 7 on the old school computers. Does one play games better than the other one or just which one is better? i really don't want to throw microsoft 120 dollars but i guess i will if 10 is better

Won't really be a big difference in gaming performance, other than the fact you won't be able to play DX12 games on Windows 7 as it requires Windows 10.

you may not have to. if you still have your windows 7 key then you may bhe able to use it to activate windows 10

Windows 7 -- for ease of use in navigating around the familiar user-interface it beats 8 & 10 no contest -- and despite it being older it's one of the most stable versions Microsoft has produced.

Windows 10 - - the gamers choice for current and future games owing to it supporting DX12.
